Our 2017 Honda CR-V was hit by a softball-sized rock which struck and bent the roof front cross-member just above the windshield. The windshield needed replacing, no big deal, but the roof was a tricky repair. I called my regular auto mechanic who recommended Gerber, since he had done business with them in the past. Also, they are approved by our insurance company, so this was a "no brainer". I filed a claim with our insurance company, and told them we would be taking our car to the Gerber location at Mark Dabling Blvd in Colorado Springs. When I arrived there, they had already been contacted by the insurance company and had prepared all the paperwork. Dave G. the estimator, and one of his top mechanics looked at the damage and estimated the cost to be about $2,100. This seemed reasonable to me, because I had an estimate from ... another body shop of $2,700. The total time to repair was estimated at 11 (business!) days. Dave kept us informed every step of the way, and we were pleasantly surprised to hear that the repairs were ahead of schedule by 3 days. When we picked up the car, it was in immaculate condition. It had been detailed inside and out, and the damage to the roof is not even noticeable. I can't see any waviness or blistering in the paint - it looks like it just rolled off the assembly line. I purchased a 2015 Black on Black in Black BMW 528i, and I LOVE this car! The problem was that the dealer, BMW of Shererville IN, sold the car with a cracked back bumper in two places that was not really visible at the time of purchase, and it was dusk and raining when I took possession of the car. This dealer gave me the runaround for a couple weeks. They did fix the crack -- or they replaced the bumper -- but whatever they did, the bumper was faded, with cloudy spots on the right side. I found they never painted the bumper, which was all I wanted so that it would match the rest of the car, which looks great. In other words, they left me with a great looking car that had an eyesore for a back bumper. They wasted two more weeks of my time, telling me they'd paint it, because "it has to be done by a BMW-certified body shop", only ... to return it improved but still not right. I asked if the bumper had been painted. I was told it had not; just "buffed out really good." I was done with them. I remembered Gerber had done an excellent job with my previous vehicle, a Nissan Altima, after someone in a grocery store parking lot bumped the back left of that car. I took the Altima to Gerber, they checked it out, gave me an estimate, and assured me it would look great. It did! Just like it was never hit! Back to my BMW. Same deal when I brought it in to Gerber in Munster Indiana. They said they could do the job, told me how long it would take, and they finished the work April 30th, about 3 months ago, finishing a day sooner than promised. They were right. The bumper looked great! Perfectly matches the rest of the car. As instructed, I didn't wash the bumper for 30 days, and I won't wax it for another couple weeks, around Aug. 1, as I am to wait 90 days to apply any wax. Before writing a review, I wanted to wait for that amount of time so that I could give a complete and meaningful review. The bumper looks as great as it did when I picked up the car from Gerber in April. I am VERY pleased with the job Gerber did. Any body and glass work I need in the future will be done by Gerber, because not only do they do great work, they have earned my trust, which is crucial for me when doing business with anyone. If you want your body and glass repair work done right, take your car to Gerber Collision and Glass without hesitation. You'll be glad you did! read more
