Auto Glass

How much will my insurance cover for auto glass service?

Auto glass repair and replacement is covered under your automobile’s comprehensive policy. You will only be responsible for your deductible, which will be collected at the time of service. Many insurers will waive your deductible for a windshield repair, costing you no out-of-pocket expenses. If you have "liability" only coverage, then auto glass services will not be covered and you will be responsible for payment at the time of service.

How do I schedule an auto glass / windshield service appointment?

Begin by visiting our Auto Glass Quote page, visiting our Schedule Appointment page, or by calling 877-7gerber (877-743-7237).

Do you provide auto glass service in my area?

We provide convenient, mobile / onsite auto glass service at your home, work or wherever you would like service, at no additional charge. Visit our Auto Glass Quote page and input your zip code to determine if we service your area. Additionally, we have over 500 repair center locations to serve you. Find our nearest repair center by visiting our Locations page.

How much does mobile / onsite auto glass service cost?

There is no charge for mobile / onsite auto glass service. We are pleased to provide this free service for the convenience of our customers.

What does my auto glass quote include?

Auto glass quotes include labor (installation) and the cost of the glass chosen. Sales taxes are additional and vary depending upon where your vehicle will be serviced, unless otherwise noted. Your vehicle may require additional materials for a safe installation (windshield options, moldings, etc.). Our representatives will always inform you of any additional material and labor costs ahead of time.

Can my windshield be repaired?

Many small rock chips and cracks can be repaired without needing to replace your windshield, saving you time and money. If your rock chip is smaller than a quarter in diameter, it may be repairable. If your windshield crack is less than 6” long (the size of a dollar bill), it may be repairable. Please contact us at 877-7gerber (877-743-7237) for further details.

If it's raining or snowing, can my windshield repair be performed outside, via your mobile / onsite service?

Unfortunately, no. For a successful windshield repair, the damaged area needs to be dry and free from debris. During inclement weather, it is best to have the work performed in one of our convenient repair center locations.

Will I still be able to see the rock chip on my windshield after it is repaired?

Yes, you will still be able to see a small “scar” after your windshield is repaired. Repairs are designed to restore the structural integrity to your windshield. Fortunately, we will also be able to improve the cosmetic appearance of the rock chip and make the damaged area considerably less visible.

How long will the auto glass repair take to complete?

Most repairs can be completed in 30 minutes or less. Actual time may vary depending upon climate conditions and the extent of the damage.

What if the windshield cracks during the repair?

It is rare for a windshield to crack during the repair process, but it does happen from time-to-time. Unfortunately, your windshield will need to be replaced and we will credit the cost of the chip repair towards a new windshield.

What causes the rock chip to crack further?

It is difficult to predict when a rock chip will crack further. Extremes in temperatures often will result in small chips becoming larger cracks. To be safe, you should have a repair performed promptly after noticing the damage.

What is your auto glass replacement and repair warranty?

Replacement Warranty: Your windshield replacement is warranted against air and water leaks, defective materials and/or workmanship for as long as you own your vehicle.

Repair Warranty: If you're not satisfied with the finished windshield repair, or the chip repair fails to stop the break, Gerber Collision & Glass will credit the cost of the chip repair towards a new windshield and we will install it for you.

Will you replace my windshield stickers?

Yes, our technicians will make every effort to save your windshield stickers and affix them to your new windshield.

Are your auto glass service technicians certified?

All of our technicians are independently certified and adhere to the National Glass Association (NGA) and Automotive Glass Replacement Safety Standards (AGRSS) installation standards.

How long after getting a windshield replacement do I need to wait before I can drive?

Generally our OEM adhesives cure within an hour. However, safe drive away times do vary depending upon climate conditions. Your technician will be able to provide you with the safe drive away time for your windshield replacement.

Does the technician clean up the broken glass?

Yes, our glass technician will do his very best to vacuum all broken glass and leave your vehicle like new. It is always a good idea to have your vehicle detailed after a replacement to ensure all broken glass is removed.

Do you use OEM quality glass?

Yes, we use only the highest quality glass and adhesives for your vehicle.
