Just moved to Cedar Rapids after retiring from 20+ years as an auto damage adjuster for national insurance company and I needed to locate a reputable local shop for an out of pocket repair. I got estimates from 3 shops near my new home to compare. Stephanie at Gerber wrote a good estimate with no added extras or up sales I did not need. Scheduling was easy and Liz called with an update my repair and to advise they should have my car done on the day they had promised. My repair was done correctly and on time. I am very pleased and would recommend Gerber to friends and family in need to collision repairs.

A review as well as an apology! I am so happy with the repair results on my Highlander. I backed into the corner of a construction trailer - built like a tank, it didn't budge - completely wiped out my lift gate, window, back wiper, all the trim, and a portion of the bumper. It now actually looks better than the one that came on the vehicle. Communication was wonderful. It's at the age where it could've possibly been totaled because of the amount of the damage vs value of the vehicle. They kept the cost lower and I was able to keep my SUV. THANK YOU GERBER. PLUS they detailed it inside and out. When I picked it up it looked just like the day I bought it!! The apology - they told me during a phone call that I needed a new battery. I had purchased a heavy duty battery; it was $300. 00 and only 10 months old. I said no. So, they had to jump ... my battery to get me out of the lot and in to the street; off to the battery company to replace it. I had no idea jumping a dead battery would start the alarm full blast while his head was under to hood. I'm so sorry for that - YES! You were right. The battery was dead, dead. They replaced it and I paid nothing. So I'm a happy camper - my car looks wonderful. It's clean inside and out and I have a new replacement battery! Staff was very helpful and kind for someone who had their first repair ever! The repairs look amazing and the cleaning was such a surprise. 10/10 recommend with any type of repair. Liz and Stephanie went above and beyond to ensure everything was taken care of.

I had a deer hit my driver's side door and front panel. I got right in after talking with the insurance agent. They kept me up to date on the process and the repairs were done on time as promised. They did a great job!

Honest and hassle-free. They did a great job with my 2024 Subaru Ascent taking the scratch out of the passenger side door and wheel well. It looks like new again. I would highly recommend Gerber Collision and Glass repair. It's nice to know your vehicle's in good hands.

2022 Lexus RX350L was hit on passengers side. Damage to front and rear doors, rear side and pushed tire and rim into frame. towed directly to Gerber Collision in Cedar Rapids. Within a week, Gerber (Kelly) had called with an estimate, ordered parts after confirmation from Insurance company, and gave a completion date. Kelly called several times a week with updates. The SUV was completed several days ahead of time. I examined the completed job and it appears flawless and I am picky. Paint job was beautiful. All components replaced and still fit like a new Lexus should. So yes, I highly recommend this body shop. Note: I want to give a shout out to State Farm Ins. as they were great to work with also. They were not our insurer.

Since moving to Cedar Rapids in 1979, I have had several opportunities to be serviced by Golden Hammer Collision Repair, now Gerber Collision & Glass. I have always been very happy with their professionalism, skill, and willingness to tailor their work to my desires. I have always felt respected and valued as a customer. Recently I took a used Sienna to them for help diagnosing an irritating door rattle. Kelly removed the door panels and showed me what was likely causing the rattle and discuss several options to remedy the situation. He also greased several parts, which did make a significant difference - all at no cost to me; amazing! Over the years, I have recommended Golden Hammer (Gerber) to friends, and I will continue to do so. The name has changed, but you will find the same great people and service there. Thank you. Now about ... that name, I'm just going to call you guys Golder-Gerber. Has a nice ring to it. read more

We have used Gerber twice recently. We had a great first experience there and that's why we went back. The people there are really good to work with and got us in and out on our schedule. They are all friendly and have gone above and beyond. Even looking at other vehicles we have that weren't involved in our accident.
